The reason why I don't blog is that I never know what to blog about. Many times I tried to open and keep a blog running, but after a couple of entries my updates would not-so-slowly be reduced from daily to weekly to random to none at all.

My first blog, the most successful to the day, was a personal journal of my University life. It was the early Noughties and blogging was in its golden era. My friends would read and comment on all my adventures and I would do the same on their posts, even more than once a day. We had no Facebook and that was the way we could still somehow get in touch .

As we all got our degree, Facebook and social media had already took over our lives and all our personal blogs died. It was time for me to turn my blogging into something more serious and useful, and that's when my second creature was born. The owner of the music website I was contributing to decided all of a sudden to shut it down and a music-related blog was my new venture.

Guia/ Plan D

[Yes, I'm blogging about my old blogs, meaning that this is a meta-blog of sort.]

My music blog opened on February 2012 and was called Plan D. That was inspired by a minor song included in an EP of covers by my favorite band of the time, Okkervil River. Another reason for that title was that I felt like having already failed on my A, B and C plans and I needed to clean my slate starting somewhere new.

I tried to make Plan D work as a real music website, posting newly released videos and some news, I even tried to live blog from a music festival located in the Nottingham Forest –with very poor results–, but very soon that gave way to some personal essays related to music matters. I didn't have so many readers – to be honest, I had a very few – and that didn't help my dedication to blogging.

I ended up writing just on special occasions, like big album releases or gig by musicians I like. I had to check to know when I last posted something there, and that on February 2014. So long, Plan D, I strongly doubt our paths will meet again anytime soon.
