A shaman told them about the “Ghost Dance” which was believed to bring back their dead warriors, send the whites where they belonged, and bring back the Buffalo. The whites feared an uprising and surrendered their guns, it was only when a man who refused to give his gun up let out an accidental shot, then battle broke out which lasted for an hour. This battle isn’t one that is well known because it was fought during the civil war, in hopes of gaining more territory.
