The desert is a dry place where there is less rain and no rivers. Plants and animals in the desert have developed features which help them to survive in the environment they live in. These features of plants and animals are called adaptations.                                                                                                              

Cactuses

>Cactus survive in dry places.
>Cactus have spines.
>Less water is lost.
>And less water escapes.
>Have no leaves

Camels
A camel is an even-toed ungulate which has the characteristics hump on its 
back. They were tamed over 3,500 years ago and have been used for transportation ever since. Below are some interesting facts and information about camels.

* Camels have two rows of thick eyelashes to protect their eyes from the desert dust. They are also able to close their nostrils and lips to keep out the dust.
* Camels’ ears are extremely strong.
