This sense of closeness can bring band members together and make the overall music quality go together better. An example that Ratliff uses is closeness of voices between Paul McCartney and John Lennon. The two knew they had somewhat of a power with their voices together so they used it to their advantage. Closeness. I agree with Ratliff because he uses examples such as the Beetles that I can understand and see what he is explaining. In the song "When I get Home" by the Beetles, the two voices together adds harmony to the song as a whole and makes the listening experience better for the listener. An example outside of Ratliff music examples would be "Sarah Smile" by Hall and Oates.
