School life for teenagers during the Japanese occupation was very hard as they could not receive the proper education that supposedly should be given to them. Family life like for the teenagers during the Japanese occupation was very demanding because teenagers was forced without a choice to get a job to support their family. This is supported by sources 1 and 2 which states food rationing, lack of food and poverty. In source 2, a young girl was forced to work because her mother was too old, "so the idea for me was to get a job." The economic situation was difficult for teenagers during the Japanese occupation as they had to had to be very hard-working at a young age which ruined their childhood. This is supported by source 3 which states, "I remember blisters and callouses formed on my hands from digging the soil and carrying hoes," this shows that they had to grow their own food as food was scarce.
