My point of view for The Creation of Turtle Island is that before the universe existed there was nothing but a person named Kitchi-Manitou started to see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. He wanted more powerful people and he thought Sky Woman would give birth to powerful people so he decided to ask her and she said yes.
