I love the whole idea of productive struggle. However, just like rigor, productive struggle doesn't mean just making it harder. It is important that students feel safe enough to take risks, but we need to help them understand that they may not always have the "right" answer. And that is OK! Students can learn from the process as much as they can from getting the right answer.

It can be a struggle at times for me to make sure and give students specific feedback when they share something with me. It is easy just to say "good job" or "I like it". I try to really take a close look at their work and give them a specific example of what I notice. This seems to really help the student understand that I value their work and gives them a true piece of feedback for them to reflect on.

I love this quote! I also think it's important for us as educators to model failure as well. If something didn't go as planned, or we've made a mistake model the growth mindset! It's okay to admit that we are wrong and human in front of students. I think it helps them see the importance of failure and learning from our mistakes.
