Guns are used for self-defence 2.5 million times a year, making gun control laws stricter could infringe upon the right to self-defence and deny people a sense of safety and therefore therefore, gun control laws should not become stricter.

There were 464,033 total gun deaths between 1999 and 2013 therefore gun control laws should be stricter as this would reduce gun deaths.

(c)gun control won't actually prevent mass shootings; (r) heart disease kills more Americans annually than guns; murder is illegal, and that doesn't prevent it from happening all the time. therefore stricter gun laws are not justified.

That’s an astonishing number—but it’s not what I’m driving at. Instead, this research by Mother Jones shows that, of those sixty-two shootings, forty-nine were perpetrated using legal weapons. Therefore stricter gun control laws should be in place.

Get rid of guns in homes, and on the streets, and, as much as possible, on police. Not just because of San Bernardino, or whichever mass shooting may pop up next, but also not not because of those. Don’t sort the population into those who might do something evil or foolish or self-destructive with a gun and those who surely will not. As if this could be known—as if it could be assessed without massively violating civil liberties and stigmatizing the mentally ill. Ban guns! Not just gun violence. Not just certain guns. Not just already-technically-illegal guns. All of them.

From 1999 to 2013 a total of 464,033 deaths by firearms happened in the U.S. Of this number 37% was from homicides, 55% from suicide's and 9% from accidental killings. The fact that mostly anyone can get guns make's this number a threat to increase every day. More gun control laws should be enacted because, more gun laws would decrease death rates.

In addition, shooting sports are third most popular event at the summer olympics (none are televised in the United States), and about six percent of Americans are active hunters.
A gun in a locked safe is an emergency safety device, like fire extinguishers and alarm systems. Most people won't ever need them, but it's reasonable to install them anyway.
