Actually, several chapters had to do with healing of past hurts.  Wendell and Sae Young both had traumas and felt better when they worked in the garden and connected with people.

An issue in Seedfolks is that all the people are doing different things and just want to garden for example one person wanted to plant lots of lettuce in a large area without approval.

Sae Young was harassed and she didn't want to leave her house for a while. She found the garden and started helping out. She kept going and the garden made her feel better.

Sae Young was lonely after her husband died, and left her with no children. Ana was lonely because she lived alone in her one apartment brooding on unpleasant thoughts. Such as Tio Juan was sad and missed his farmland in Guatemala so when he discovered the garden which was something he could do that doesn't  require speaking and gave him memories he was happy.

is Isolation. How Ana has no kids and she sits and looks through the same window, And lived alone. She also does not really talk to anyone. Same for Tio Juan he does not really speak English so he is isolated and not able to communicate with anyone.

I think this because in Wendell story he helps kims seeds by make circles around them to help the soil. In Leonas story she tries to get the smell out of the garden bye calling departments. Also in Nora's story she tries to make Mr.myles happy taking him to the garden so he can have the memories of his mothers flowers she loves helping him remember his old memories.
