I have had the opportunity to participate with the ELA Planning Committee to help identify the priority ELA standards for the 2022-2023 school year. This has given us an opportunity to share ideas and opinions about what works best for our students and what we need to change.

We meet weekly with our PLC groups (in our own content area) to make sure we are all on track. We also use that time to answer one another's questions, which can be beneficial to new teachers.

The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA teachers meet to discuss what we are teaching and what will be beneficial for the students to have mastered before entering the next grade level.

My colleague and I are very fortunate in that we love to collaborate and that we collaborate throughout the school year. If either of us has a lesson or unit idea as an individual, we then reach out for ways to enhance it and refine it. We ask for feedback and make changes based on each other's feedback.

I think one of the best things we have going right now is a new set of standards and text books. I think we have the best time right now to really improve our collaboration and PLC process for the better.

With being the only 7th grade English teacher in my building that isn't the challenge course, I lean heavily on other 7th grade teachers from other buildings. This has been a great tool and resource to have one another.

While my colleague and I do have formal planning times, our most valuable and genuine collaboration comes in the form of those informal moments of a quick text or between-class conversations. We share how it's going (or not going) or the eureka moment on the drive to school...that kind of thing. It's real, it's inspired, and it's responsive. It let's us know we aren't alone, and that it's OK that the best laid plans of mice and men go oft awry.

I have had the opportunity to work with fellow 11th grade ELA teachers during our weekly PLC meetings. We collaborate and share resources which allow us to design lessons with varied activities. Some of my best teaching moments would not have happened without the ideas shared at these meetings.

This past year we made an intentional effort to work together on most all of our digital resources... notes, presentations, quizzes/tests, etc. We utilized our Schoology resources folders so that we all had constant access to the materials.

I was able to collaborate with my other grade-level teachers on a webquest prior to our unit on Shakespeare. We were able to do so through Google and sharing on Google Sites.

We collaborate on almost everything we do as a PLC. Looking at the new standards we have been able to revise and come up with new and innovative ideas for the upcoming year. We use a shared Google Drive to put our assignments and ideas for each unit together and work together to make them the best they can possibly be.

The Google workspace is a great tool for collaboration not just within our department but also outside of it. As an English teacher that's relatively new there is a steady stream of resources, brainstorming, and feedback that's traded via Gmail, Google Drive etc. within my PLC.

Collaboration among teachers is a great resource as we teach the same to our students.

Department PLC is the best collaboration time for myself and I would venture to say that most of my colleagues would feel the same. We meet weekly. We also talk daily to ensure we are all on the same page. Common planning works wonders!

We collaborate to plan lessons, create engaging activities, and we often use each other for sounding boards when we are stuck on how to make an activity engaging or stuck on how to help a student become more successful. We also have a google site where we post resources. This makes those resources easily accessible for all of us, while also being in one singular place. Having a resource site also allows us to create different pages for different resources so everything can stay organized.

We have weekly PLC's where we work as a team to look at our data and make a plan to address student needs. We also work as a team to deign assignments and write tests.

Because our teachers are working in teams this year, the 7th grade ELA teachers have been collaborating in several ways. We meet every Friday to plan the next week talk about how things are going. Even with the challenge course, I am able to provide common experiences for my students with regular ELA students.

My PLC works together to align curriculum, particularly in writing, so create a continuum of learning that helps make our student writers more effective and successful.

We have weekly PLC meetings on Wednesdays. During these meetings we get talk about what currently is going on in our classrooms and bounce ideas off each other. This is actually my first year teaching mythology and these PLC meetings have been really helpful. I've been able to ask more experienced teachers and share digital resources with them as well.
