There are 3 "ranks" or placement if we are talking about bourgeoisies. Big bourgeoisies gain a lot of money, they lived in a beautiful district or in a clean luxury hotel. They consist of bankers, big merchants, industrialists, high officials or capitalists. For the medium and small bourgeoisies, they consist a small patrons of craft and a commerce : Lawyers, doctors, employees and teachers. They are not all rich but they still got workers. They defended the liberalism, and they believe in god

If we compare a family of bourgeois with a family of peasant in the 19th century, we can see that the bourgeois earn money 16 to 17 times more than the workers. If we compare the money spent on food, health, clothing and lighting between them, we can see that the peasants spend their money principally on the food unlike the bourgeois. The bourgeois spend 6500 francs on food, 500 francs on health issues, 3000 francs on clothes and 1500 francs on the light yearly. Peasants spend 850 francs on food, 50 francs on health issues, 300 francs on clothes and 85 francs on light yearly. Of course the peasants do not spend as much as the bourgeois.

Clothes were seen as an expression of women’s place in society and were hence, differentiated in terms of social class. Upper class women, who did not need to work, often wore a tightly laced corset over a bodice or chemisette, and paired them with a skirt adorned with numerous embroideries and trims; over layers of petticoats. Middle class women exhibited similar dress styles; however, the decorations were not as extravagant. The layering of these garments make them very heavy. Corsets were also stiff and restricted movement. Although the clothes were not comfortable, the type of fabrics and the in-numerous layers were worn as a symbol of wealth.
