Stalin Worked alongside world leader Vladimir Lenin up until is demise and death in 1924. Because Stalin was so close to Lenin, he thought he could assume a takeover for Russia. But he had an opponent, Leon Trotsky. Trotsky advocated for ideas that were less centralized on the idea of full power, and Stalin did not agree. For many years they argued who would be a better candidate as leader. And eventually, Stalin got Trotsky exiled and he resided in Mexico where Stalin had him assassinated. This meant that Joseph Stalin had officially became the leader of the Soviet Union.

Stalin believed complete power belonged to the state. Stalin used a lot of fear tactics to keep everyone in line and make sure he kept his power. Propaganda was a very big tactic Stalin used. He would spread fake lies and scare people into thinking they needed him as a leader. He also got rid of religious beliefs. He believed that no man was higher than him, even God himself. He would force families to place pictures of him in their home. Stalin would also create movies and pictures of him looking like a hero to persuade people into thinking how good of a person he was, and he had a strong grip on censorship, to make sure nobody spoke out against him.

Mussolini was a great advocate for the Roman Empire. He believed he could bring Italy back to its "greatness" despite his ideas being extremely corrupt.

Although Mussolini was a totalitarian dictator and had majority control over the state, he still allowed for profits and capitalism, because he was a firm believer in imperialism. To keep the power Mussolini had such a firm grip on, he used many scare tactics, as Stalin did. He pushed propaganda and conspiracy theories about other parties. He also rigged elections to make sure no other candidates running were not a part of the fascist party. He also would exiled or kill any opposition that was suspicious of his agenda. Mussolini also increased Italy's military and had them in charge for most of the political decisions. Fascist nationalism ran throughout all of Italy.

During Hitler's Rise to Power, the Weimar Republic was leading, who had recently signed the Treaty of Versailles. This Treaty left many Germans unfaithful and depressed in their country, and many resented the Republic for embarrassing Germany by forcing them to take the blame for the War. Hitler was a part of the Nazi party, and had eventually became a leader in it. He had once tried to overthrow the Republic and ended up in jail, where he wrote a book about his struggles and his strong belief for Anti-semitism. After a while people start to believe Hitler is a good leader, because he is pushing major propaganda about himself. He makes many promises to the people and they are desperate to gain back their worth of being a good country. Hitler is named Chancellor and eventually elected President after the death of Hindenburg, which officially made him a dictator.

Hitler believed in the superiority of one race and one race only, which were blue eyed white Germans. Once he had full power over Germany, he wiped away women's rights and completely cut them out of the picture. He purged any outside culture that didn't align with his ideas. He also created a series of Nuremburg laws which slowly outlawed many Jews from Germany. He denounced Christianity and believed in a state religion. Hitler was a totalitarian leader, and because he had so much power he could do anything. He controlled the minds and the world of the people around him.
