Taking advantage of low land prices, a big fracking company buys up large amounts of land near the town and begins preparations to begin fracking on the site it identifies as most promising. However, although the trade union action convinced some people, workers tbhought there might be more jobs if fracking started up and local support dwindled.

The opening of a large logistics centre near the town attracts an influx of people looking for work. A lack of affordable housing in the town causes the establishment of a squatter’s camp on the outskirts. The camps inhabitants are a mix of migrants and those with British citizenship. Attitudes towards the camp in the town are mixed leaning to hostile.
Local Labour Council gets resources from the logistics company to build good social housing.
Mega Church organises a programme of outreach to support community cohesion and integration of the newcomers into the already existing community.
+1 for Labour Council action
Dice roll: 9 + 1 = 10
Unqualified success.

Severe austerity measures imposed by the national Conservative government demands huge cuts in local services. The Labour led local council mainly goes along with these cuts and gets the blame. The remnants of the local branch of the EDL runs an anti-cuts campaign and states their intention stand in the local elections to take over the council.
Labour Council candidates work with the Working Men's Club to stand anti-austerity candidates in the next selection of candidates to replace centrist Labour candidates who have supported cuts. Not by setting illegal budgets but by coming up with creative solutions that centrists couldn't imagine.
+2 for co-operation of two groups
+1 because of the profile of the LP and the successful work with migrants.
Dice roll: 7 + 3 = 10
Unqualified success!
