After deeply consideration, I decided to try the heat shrink sheet. I've been doing a lot of reading in the last week, and I've noticed that Heat Shrink Sheets have a particularly high failure rate, and I've seen a lot of Youtube vloggers fail regularly and get hurt.
I was so afraid of the consequences of failure that I wanted to choose Dip Flower Liquid, which I already knew half of it. But later I think, since I choose this course, I should think about the meaning of this course.
I watched the Mental Health Support video on Brightspace, and I really liked what it said. People should be confident in themselves and have the courage to face failure. There is an old Chinese saying: Failure is the mother of success. I'll never know how far I can go if I don't try.

I'll have to draw on my living expenses. 😿

(This is the uncomfortable first step.）

(Tutorials on the web look so easy!)
I started by drawing a pattern in pencil on a Heat Shrink Sheet. I chose a basic four-petal lilac and cut it out with a box cutter and scissors.
So far, so good！：p
Then I colored the cropped sheet with colored charcoal! Be careful, though, to color the rough side. At first I didn't notice the Heat Shrink Sheet's smooth and rough sides. I worked on the smooth side for a long time and couldn't get the color on properly. But these are minor problems!

Pollock believes that adding women to art history is an open challenge to the discipline of art history. This is because the exclusion of women is caused by patriarchy in the discipline structure. Patriarchy, class and race maintain this unequal situation together. In order for feminism to intervene in the study of art history, it should not only focus on female artists, but also reveal the prejudice of art history from the perspective of the whole discipline. In other words, it is necessary to change the concept and change the way, and abandon the idea that creativity exists in the aesthetic kingdom with isolated social content. She used Marxist theory to prove that artistic creation must be regarded as the production of art, as art is the result of social relations determined by its production conditions, rather than the traditional concept of "artists create images, accepted or rejected by the art world" mode. She argues that art must be seen in a historical context.

In Pollock's conception, understanding art requires two conditions: first, understanding art's place in the struggle between class, race and gender; Secondly, the specific artistic works, creation methods and service objects are analyzed. To accomplish this requires the study of image systems and psychoanalysis.

Shrinky Dink is an interesting new product, one of those handmade objects of the technological age, and Shrinky Dink is made by two housewives. I chose this material not only because it is one of my interests, but also because I want to make my jewelry works with this material. It is very interesting to make jewelry works with a non-metallic non-gem material. I want to explain to you that jewelry design and production is not just a piece of jewelry, jewelry can also be divided into art jewelry and commercial jewelry. In ancient China, jewelry was always given to women (wives and concubines, etc.) by men as a gift. I think it takes a lot of time and energy to complete a piece of jewelry (no matter it is any art work). During this time, you need to constantly create and modify, learn from your failures, and constantly improve your skills and techniques.

When people wonder "If women are truly equal to men, why have there never been great female artists?" It is startling to discover how few places women occupy in the ranks of greatness.

The term "femininity", as identified by some feminists or many male critics, refers to a style, a collective sense that certain works at first glance have a certain female experience, and that these qualities are associated with the style of female artists. Indeed, the number of female artists is not as large as that of men. Women are often weakened by the subjective needs of the male-dominated society itself, as well as by the massive or even excessive material enjoyment.

Moreover, failures integrate their process and big picture, because every perfect product is based on an uneven road.

For people who don’t have access, failures are a warning that remind them they are not capable or they are laying their emphasis on a wrong point. The first priority for them is to find what elements that cause this failure or what effects this failure will bring, meanwhile, solution plays a crucial role for people to think wether they need to solve those failures or to avoid, because efficiency comes first all the time, people need to catch the balance between failure experiences or new methods.

What I learn from this week, I think the work is just a phased learning achievement and result. Many artists create works based on their own thinking at this stage. After the release of their works, they will receive many voices and feedbacks, whether good or bad. After precipitation of thinking, they will further improve, which is a stage in the closed-loop learning system. The key is to constantly improve yourself in creation and learning. For us, the process of growth (facing failure and success) is more important in making a piece of work than good work. I found that the first draft of my design was a little too idealistic, and I had to constantly revise the draft of my work because I could only imagine parts of it rather than actually do them.

I cut a bunch of little flowers with a box cutter. I felt very comfortable during the cutting process, probably because I was a bit obsessive.
But I had some trouble using the Heat Gun. Because the voltage power of my Heat gun is 220V, I got it from China. The power of all electrical appliances in China is 220V while in Canada I remember it was 110V. So my work efficiency became very low.
Many people think that failure is the end, in fact, I think in life only the one failure against death is the end, all the other failures are a new starting point.
Why is failing so exhausting? Because we are afraid of failure, because failure undermines our sense of self-identity and makes us feel inadequate. To accept failure, we need effective self-adjustment.
In addition to learning to be independent, of course, it is also possible to seek help from people around us. Some people may be less able to regulate themselves, and we can find solace in the community or in others. I think admitting defeat is actually a way of dealing with failure. We always have some goals and expectations in our hearts, put them in front of us, even if we try our best, we cannot achieve them. Some people will therefore define themselves as not good enough, not hard enough, and begin to seriously attack themselves and others, or internal friction, or entanglement, in fact, because of the lack of such a self-regulation ability. The status quo will not change immediately, our inner desire will not disappear easily, if we want to immediately change the outside world to prove ourselves, our inner desire will be questioned, failure after failure will make you doubt yourself, doubt life. However, if we can preserve our inner desire for ourselves and maintain our narcissism, we can not only accept the unpleasant reality, but also let our desire grow into a towering tree in our hearts. This is really one's ability to deal with setbacks. Some people can go further through setbacks, and some people can only get frustrated in the face of setbacks, because of different self-regulation ability. Being able to admit defeat in the face of reality seems to be a kind of inaction, but in fact it is a very advanced self-regulation function. They make such choices in their mind, in fact, in order to avoid the knife cut down, and let themselves go to fight back. Just because you will fail doesn't mean you will fail.

I think that a lot of human suffering lies in the inability to accept "failure". All fears lie in the inability to accept a potential risk or a bad outcome, such as: I can't do this project well, what should I do? This task is not right with what I expected, what should I do? Such assumptions make people live in fear, so they share the control of the final result, but let themselves fall into a state of fear without solution. Not being able to accept the imagined failure, we end up being kidnapped by fear, losing our freedom and being terrified. It is not easy to reach only freedom, it means to face loss and disillusionment again and again, but it also means to be reborn again and again, to be strong again and again. Loss is not a bad thing; but fear of loss, avoiding failure, can easily become a bad thing.
