The first few days he has been getting bullied and now he is trying to get killed by an assassin. The assassin conflict hurt his popularity status because at 2:30 in the morning he was banging on doors to get everyone up because he was almost killed. The fact that he was almost killed meant that he had to stay/sleep in THE BOX. The box was a place to keep criminals in and not let them out.

He was almost assassinated a couple nights ago so he has to sleep in the crummy space of the cold bunker. In this event where Ben and Erica were talking I learned that Ben was only accepted to spy school for bait. That is why someone tried to kill him because on his file it said that he knew something about cryptography and the killer needed information. In this topic I am wondering who is the killer and why did they need the information from Ben. This event changed the whole entire story because there main objective changed. They want to figure out more to what spy school is hiding.

Late at night he sees something in the darkness and he tries to scream and yell but she gags him before he could do anything. It turns out to be Erica trying to talk to him so he comes down. They are talking about the assassin trying to kill him a few nights ago and why. They figured out that the only reason that Ben is at spy school isl to lure the enemy out. They also talked about how Erica’s dad was hiding something important and they were going to find out what. This conversation showed that the academy of spy school only brought Ben to spy school to use him as bait. This also shows that the academy is hiding what they know.

The bully didn't believe him and the classmate ended up saying that Ben would kick his but in a fight. So then without Ben's approval the bully scheduled a fight. So I think the next thing in the story is that they they fight and the whole school watches to see whether Ben has the skills to fight of an assassin. If not his popularity would be ruined.

In the scene the class is talking about the fight when suddenly Mr. Crandall wakes up from spacing out. He yelled at Ben because that was the only voice he heard. Mr. Crandall talks about how it is rude to interrupt, and that if he was he must no the curriculum. The teacher called a pop quiz and that is when everyone disappeared out of the classroom. There faces showed fear so that wasn't very good for Ben. The next thing he knows is there is ninjas coming out of a closet trying to kill him. One had a nun chuck and the other had a sword and the third had throwing stars. They started attacking him and the teacher was giving lessons while they were trying to kill him. After that he suddenly gets hit with nun chucks and then he goes unconscious. This scene answers my annotation question because in the event were he is getting attacked he learns what not to do by the teacher. This scene is important because it affects how the mood will be in the class later on. The reader learns that if he is going to fight the big bully then he is going to need to train or work harder to be better at fighting or self-preservation.

So far I like my book a lot because there is a lot of communication and action in the book. In stars I would rate it about a 4. What I don't like about my book is that there are just some scenes that are really slow. Like when Ben just woke up from being unconscious. He was talking with Alex the whole time about who he thinks the assassin might be. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fighting and action because most of the story has been just nonstop action when he first got there.

In the story the narrator of he book is a teenager named Ben, he faces a lot of conflict throughout spy school. He is more intelligent than strong. In the story is seem that the character is relatable throughout the story because of how he is portrayed, he is very believable, authentic and seems very real. I can kind of connect with the character but there are many traits that differ from me. Like he is not very strong, he doesn't know how to fight and he gets picked on. Yes throughout the story I have been getting more windows than mirrors because most of Ben's traits and settings are unfamiliar.

In the book The compound Eli has this main conflict that is always pushing him down. The special days of the year are no longer happy with Eddy gone. His birthday is the worst time of the year because not only is it his birthday, it is also Eddy's birthday because there twins. The other reason is his birth day is the day that the bomb destroyed the U.S. , so instead of the day being celebrated the day reminds there family that there old life is gone.

The narrator of the book is named Eli and the book is about him living his life in a bunker underground called THE COMPOUND. The main character is very believable in the story because he acts and feels so real. I don't relate that much to Eli because he is basically the complete opposite of what I would describe myself as. There are definitely more window scenes because there is not a lot to relate to, Eli is in a bunker because of a bomb that blew up the U.S. As we learned in the book his past was him having friends only because of Eddy so you would say he was not very social and he was known to be a troublemaker and not a very good brother.

Eli's family was forced to leave Eddy behind (not sure why because dad wont tell) and forced to live in a bunker called the compound. There lives changed because they no longer get to play with friends or go outside or do some of the normal teenage things that they used to.

When he went to look after the cows and chickens he gave them more food. Later on in that day the livestock didn't look right, they were just laying down on there sides. Eli called his dad in because one by one the livestock were dying. His dad later analyzed the food and the water was clean but he found out that the grain contained rat poison. The food is getting low.

One thing that is interesting in the book that just presented itself is that they have been living of food from livestock kept down in the compound. In the story so far I have learned that there food problem is growing worse, there livestock is dying and there running out of the main foods. In the topic Eli is thinking that some one sabotaged the food for the cows and chickens, etc. I am wondering if that was true and I am wondering if they are going to find out more on what happened. This has impacted the story because the food shortage tells us how long the characters are going to live, my guess not long.

What the author has done very well in the story is describing what it is like to live in the compound and how it effects the daily lives of Eli's family. In the book they used a lot of good word choice that makes you picture what it is like in the compound like you are actually there. They have only created suspense once in the book and that was when there was a flashback in the book of them moving from a cabin to the bunker. Them running as fast as they can half asleep and them opening a hatch and climbing in.

First food problem, you would think that that would be your highest priority right when your building a bunker. Then there is the internet, your not suppose to have it yet when Eli was close to his dads working room it popped up on Eli's computer that there was internet and there are so many other reason that Eli's dad might be hiding something. The Bomb effected them because before in there family they new that there dad had secrets but in the compound it seems like hes always busy and he keeps his door locked every time he leaves the office.
