1. What are the main concerns? 

• Students are in bathing suits 

• Unsure of what “restricted area” is 

• Local hire has photos of students in swimwear - how are photos being used? 

• Students in close touching proximity of adult, touching, while in little dress - intentions, grooming 

2. What are the next steps? Staff, Parents, and Children. 

• Conversation with the local hire and ask to remove photos from the phone - watch them to remove it 

• Have a conversation with the students to get more information on what happened, as well as not being allowed into restricted area (potential dangers) 

• Make staff aware - make sure staff keeps an eye on the local hire, and reaffirm the warning of being in the restricted area 

• Conversation with the company that hired the local to discuss concerns 

• Reach out to the coordinator, Richard, to make them aware of the situation and confirm protocol. 

• If “foul play” and ill intentions are discovered in the conversation - report in “my Concern”, and seek follow-up with Richard/ company

Main concern was child safety… serious bike incident. Notify local healthcare to pick up student. Have the rest of the group continue while one teacher stays with injured student until discharge from hospital/health facility.

After health care called- phone Richard for next steps.

Expected outcomes- student discharged, prognosis is good, decision made on how the student can participate for remainder of trip and who will stay with them.

Steps to take

• Update Richard; safeguarding concern. Dictate room number and students in the rooms. 

• Room Check: Staff of same gender enter the rooms, check attendance, meet with students, inform them of the procedure. Give them the chance to clarify

• Wait on student stories; if severe, parents informed. 

• Ask Hotel to check CCTV, which students left and where if possible

• Re-Update
