If the youth ran the city of Newark I would change the fact that homeless are outside and the fact that they dont eat unless someone is being kind enough to give them money or their leftover food. A lot of people in Newark suffer from drug addictions and this may not be something easy to change however the process of helping them could easily be done if the effort was put into it however. One main problem within the City of Newark is that it doesn't receive the care it deserves in order for the city to start building itself up once again. There are tons of creative and talented people within Newark who have the ability to do great changes however they cannot express themselves nor nurture those talents because of the condition of the city. 

Another thing that needs to be focused on is gun violence, racism, and police brutality within the city. People like George Floyd had the unfortunate encounter of meeting a racism police officer who immediately assumed he was up to something because of the color of his skin. Why would a police officer come into a city with a duty to protect only to end up harming the innocent. Gun violence is a huge thing that needs to be worked on in Newark. Some children in Newark grow up having the experience and witness the violence of guns and the harm that drugs do within the community and they end up thinking it's what normal within the city and eventually become the same as what they saw. 

Aside from the issues of violence in Newark, something else that needs to be focused on is education. A lot of children in Newark are unable to receive the education they need because they may not have enough money or they don't have the necessary transportation in order to come to school.
