صاحَتْ سوسنُ وصديقاتُها: فزْنا، فزْنا بالرّحلةِ الرّائعةِ، علينا أنْ نجهّزَ أنفسَنا برفقةِ معلّمتِنا للمشاركةِ في هذهِ الرّحلةِ، وصحبةِ العلماءِ. اجتمعَ الفريقُ وفِرَقٌ أخرى منَ الطّلبةِ ومعلّميهم عندَ نقطةِ التّجمّعِ؛ انطلاقًا إلى محطّتِهمُ الأولى في محميّةِ غاباتِ عجلونَ، رافقَهمْ في الرّحلةِ مجموعةٌ منَ العلماءِ، وهمُ الخبراءُ: سامي وأحمدُ وأنيسةُ.
قالَ الدكتورُ أحمدُ: يا صغاري، كما تروْنَ، فإنَّ الكائناتِ الحيّةَ عددُها كبيرٌ جدًّا، بعضُها متشابهٌ، وبعضُها مختلفٌ؛ إذْ قدّرَ العلماءُ أنَّ هناكَ أكثرَ منْ 8.7 ملايينِ نوع منَ الكائناتِ الحيةِ الموجودةِ على الأرضِ؛ لذا رَأَوْا أنهُ منَ الضروريِّ تصنيفُ الكائناتِ الحيةِ إلى أنواعٍ، وأجناسٍ، وعائلاتٍ لتسهيلِ دراستِها، سنتعلّمُ اليومَ مستوياتِ تصنيفِ الكائناتِ الحيّةِ، وسنطبقُ ذلكَ على بعضِ الكائناتِ الّتي تجدونَها في هذِهِ المحميّةِ. ستشاهدونَ في أثناءِ تجوالِكمْ أنواعًا كثيرةً منَ الكائناتِ الحيّةِ، لديكُمْ بطاقاتٌ تعريفيّةٌ لبعضِ هذِهِ الحيواناتِ، تتضمّنُ تصنيفَها وفقَ نموذجِ مستوياتِ التّصنيفِ في  الكائناتِ الحيّةِ؛ حيثُ تجدونَ نوعَ كلٍّ منها وجنسَها. (النوعُ: مجموعةٌ منَ المخلوقاتِ الحيةِ المتشابهةِ في الشكلِ والتركيبِ قادرةٌ على التزاوجِ، وتنتجُ أفرادًا تستطيع التزاوجَ والإنجابَ. الجنسُ: مجموعةٌ منَ الأنواعِ الأكثرِ ترابطًا وتشابهًا، وتشتركُ في  أصلٍ واحدٍ).
- أدرسُ بطاقاتِ مستوياتِ التصنيفِ للحيواناتِ الموجودةِ في محميةِ غاباتِ عجلونَ، وأجدُ وجهَ الشبهِ بينَها في سلّمِ مستوياتِ التصنيفِ.
