For two days in a row my boy was sent to the support center. I was sad until I read the email from his teacher that held so much love I cried

I had a 7th grader come in & tell me her favorite

book was JANE EYRE this summer. She then signed

out GONE WITH THE WIND. I'm still pinching myself

that I get to spend 6 years with this gem.

He got 95% on a Gradpoint pretest!

Today, I taught my sophomores to use Google Forms to create study guides/quizzes for classmates, they took them, and gave instant feedback! They were so proud of themselves / each other, and so was I! :)

I read to third grade Wednesday and I'm pretty sure I had more fun then them!

With 7 minutes left to go in D block, I pulled a CBE out, they all jumped in and continued to participate until the bell rang. Phew!

A former student called me to let me know she earned a 100% on her first college quiz! I share this joyful musing with ALL of her former teachers because it takes a village and WE are one darn good village!

I asked a student to help me with an activity, as he didn't want to participate in it. After a few minutes of watching the others participate and have a lot of fun, he asked if he could join in and try it too! All in his own time and with a SMILE!

I watched a group of high school students meet a disappointment with a great discussion and problem solving techniques. They made a decision that they all can enjoy.

I had a student who was having a bad day and became super frustrated and ready to give up on a quiz minutes into it. We had a good talk about struggles, potential, and how it's OK to ask for help.... I reviewed a few parts of the quiz with him to help with understanding and when I explained negative exponents in terms of the different positions on a football team, it clicked for him! He sat down and completed the entire quiz and passed with flying colors. It was very cool. I hope it changed his bad day into a good one :)

Mary: I am leaving the building today with all my lessons ready for Monday. I may have a lot of correcting to do this weekend (in the sun) but all my lessons are ready and waiting!

This is why we bought those Chromebooks...Student speaking to peers, "The Chromebook camera always makes me look so good!" Almost fell over laughing!
