In chapter 27 of "Schooled" Cap starts to disobey Rain. Cap and Sophie come across a certain event. First, Cap argues with Rain about going back to Claverage for the Halloween dance. Rain refuses to let Cap go because of the change in his personality since he returned. Next, Cap sneaks out to go to the dance. He brings one last check with him and heads to the gas station to call a taxi and pay with the check. Then, Sophie drives by and spots Cap. She takes him to Claverage so that they could go to the dance. Finally, when they arrive at Claverage they notice a gathering in the parking lot where all the students in the school are having a memorial for Cap, who is supposedly "dead".

In chapter 27, Cap and Sophie made a discovery. First, Cap and Rain talked and said that Cap couldn't go to the dance, but Cap left a note on the fridge, telling her that he was going out somewhere, not listening to what she said. Next, Sophie almost ran over Cap, and drove him to Claverage. Then, they realized that there wasn't a school dance because there were candles in the parking lot and there was no music. Finally, they find out that the students were mourning Cap, dressed as him.

In chapter 27 Cap was back home, but he started to get a little upset because he missed C Average. He realized hat he liked staying with Sophie and wanted that life back. So he wrote a note to Rain saying that he was going out for sometime. As he started walking towards the gas station a pickup truck came and it was Sophie.
