Individual sport- badminton
DIMENSIONS- In badminton it is always played inside and there are two different courts that the players and officials have to remember, if they are playing a single games the court is long and thin, if they are playing doubles then the court is short and fat. When playing badminton it has to be played indoors on the correct court dimensions. The full length of the court is 6.1 metres but when playing singles it is reduced to 5.18 metres. The full length of the court which is the length and the width is 13.4 metres. SERVING- When serving a player needs to serve diagonally to the other side of court and must land behind the front first line if the shuttlecock lands before then it is a point to the other player, also if the shuttlecock does not go diagonally and doesn't land in the box diagonal to the server then the oppenent also gains another point. OFFICIALS- The officials of badminton are the umpire and two line judges. The umpire is the main referee who makes most of the decisions and is allowed to overrule any decision made by the service judge and the line judges. The service judge is there for making sure the players don't make a service fault meaning serving incorrectly so for example service overarm or over the waist or if the players foot is on or over the service line and is also there to provide shuttlecocks to the players. The line judges are there for to see if the shuttle cock is in or out of the court when a players hits a shot. The first players to reach 21 points wins the game. All together there are 5 types of badminton that can be played there are men's singles, Girl Singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles which is a team with a man and a woman. NGB- The national governing body of badminton is 'badminton England' which tries to encourage and develop the sport throughout England. SKILLS- A continuous skill in badminton is doing a rally with your opponent because it is continuous and the shuttlecock doesn't touch the floor and is always in the air and the two players are continuously hitting the shuttlecock back to each other. A attacking skill in badminton is a smash shot this is where your opponent hits the shuttlecock in the air and you smash the shuttlecock back at them or into space so then it is harder for them to return the shot. A defensive skill in badminton is the block shot, a block shot is where your opponent tries to hit a smash shot and you jump up next to the net and aim your racket down to the floor so when the shuttlecock hits the racket it is hard for your opponent to return. A serial skill in badminton is serving because you throw the ball in the air and hit the shuttlecock to your Oppennt which results in a serve. An etiquette rule in badminton is to do a rally with your opponent at the beginning of the game.

Teams sport- A Football game consists of two 45 minutes halfs plus additional time if needed because of injuries to players and also a 15 minute break at half time. If the two teams that are playing are playing in a cup match and they draw at the end of the 90 minutes then it can go to extra time which means their will be an extra half an hour which is split into two 15 minutes half’s and then if they are still Drawing at the end of the half an hour then it goes to penalties. OFFICIALS- The officials for football are the main referee, 2 assistant refferees, fourth official and the video assistant referee (VAR). The main referee is there to enforce all the the rules and awarding sky free kicks and penalties if there is any foul play, he is also there to keep check of the time for half time and full time. The two assistant referees run up and down the side lines calling offsides and waves his flag if any foul play has been made and the referee has not seen it. They also indicate when the ball leaves the field of play and points the flag to whether it is a goal kick or throwing or points the flag either left or right to indicate a throw in and is also there for to check if the goalkeeper comes off their line when the opposition is taking a penalty. The fourth official job is to indicate how long additional time there is at half time and full time, they are also there for to let the referee know if there is any bad behaviour on the side lines between the two teams. There job is also to let a player re-enter the field after a signal from the referee. The video Assistant referee only comes in to play when the referee is not sure on a decision so the VAR looks back on the reply. For example if a challenge is made in the penalty box but the referee isn’t sure on whether it is a penalty or not then he can ask the VAR to have a look on the reply and they will decide whether it is a penalty or not. The VAR is also used for if someone a players makes a bad tackle but the referee is not sure whether it is a straight red card or just a yellow card then he will ask the VAR to have a look and then they will make the decision. SKILLS- A continuous skill in football is running with the ball because it is continuous and not stop and start. A attacking skill in football is being able to do a counter attack on your team when they have lost possession. A defensive skill in football is a interception this is where your opponent has the ball at his feet whilst running with it and you intercept the ball which means tackling them and getting the ball off them. A serial skill in football is heading the ball because the discrete skill for it is to jump in the air and the serial skill is to head the ball with your head facing the direction you want to head it into. NGB- the national governing body for football is the football association (FA) which Is responsible for all the rules of football. It also sets up leagues and competitions from grass roots to professional.

Most professional football attackers will have there own way when it comes to attacking because that is what they are best suited for.
Defending is to stop the attackers
from making chances and scoring. Same with attacking defenders have there own way of defending which suits them best to make it harder for the attackers. Most professional managers like there team to play out from the back rather than just playing a long pass all the time
