I think clay is the best soil because when you put the fossil in the clay it leaves a mold in the clay and then the mold will fill with minerals

I think it would be the small grains because clay has smaller grains than gravel and clay left a better imprint that gravel because the gravel just fell in.-francesca

I think smaller grained soils make better fossil imprints because when the trace is on the small soils it wont fill up with sediment and it wont be ruined

I saw that the smaller grained soil made the best imprint on the fossil, Example: we put shells in four different grained soils and the smaller the grained soil was the better the imprint was.
