         <description><![CDATA[<div>As a Title 1 Reading Tutor for 2 years, I have acquired many assessments that work for me. Informally, I do a lot of checks for understanding (exit slips, thumbs up/down, collecting work, etc.). I also take anecdotal notes daily with my standards-aligned checklist. Formally, for reading, I use Reading A-Z for my running records and for my fluency reads. I use Dolch Sight Words and I use the assessments that go with them. Teacher's frequently ask me to come in and do whole group lessons with their classes. In that case, I assess through discussion, observation, and collecting students' work because it is a single lesson. For units and larger concepts, I like to do project based learning, hands on activities, social learning, and student-lead inquiries. I assess through what my students create, express through their work, and interactions with each other. For this I would also use a checklist and then I could graph my data to see trends among my students. These trends will help me understand where my students need additional instruction or interventions. I can also see what I need to change to make the lesson better. </div>]]></description>
