]]> 2016-12-20 17:39:16 UTC https://padlet.com/anorkus/o2ce6x9idrnq/wish/144503146 anorkus https://padlet.com/anorkus/o2ce6x9idrnq/wish/144503323 The most significant way that I have grown as an artist is by seeing images by how they really look.  What I mean by this is not letting the right side of my brain take over and imagine what the face should look like, but instead letting the left side of my brain take over and just looking at the shapes of the object I’m looking at to get the actual drawing I want.  This was shown when I did the no-looking single line drawing.  There, we had to use our left side of the brain to look at the object we were drawing to get the right proportions.  Once were were done with that, I later on used my skills on the upside-down shadow face drawing.  This gave me a new perspective on how to look at art and to further enhance my perception of objects.  ]]> 2016-12-20 17:40:12 UTC https://padlet.com/anorkus/o2ce6x9idrnq/wish/144503323 anorkus https://padlet.com/anorkus/o2ce6x9idrnq/wish/144503570 One struggle that I learned from was color arrangement.  In the object assortment project showed how dull I used to use color.  Then I moved on to the growth project where the color actually represented meaning.  This was building up, but the colors were still dull.  The portrait project demonstrates how I have used color and created meaning into it.  The color that I used in the portrait represents the different feelings that I have in that point in time.  Also the colors that I used are significantly more vibrant and compliment each other.  Another aspect that I struggled with was shading.  The shading of facial feature in particular I found very difficult.  The right side of my brain wanted to draw what I thought was right, but instead I needed to let the left side of my brain do the drawing.  The early drawings of the cup and the sphere were ameture drawings of shadows.  I couldn’t differentiate the shadows from the three dimensional figures so it was hard for me to draw what I was seeing.
