Just like any other help problem, bills are bound to rack up. This disorder can be treated with medication, but medicine is always expensive. I would either have to opt out for a pricey insurance or just pay fully for the medication. Ex: Ritalin. I would also like a counselor present in our lives. I would have to pay for the services of the counselor to teach me certain skills and strategies. I would also like them to work with the child one on one.

How does it feel to be the parent of your child? How is your child developmentally the same and different from other children at the various ages?

I feel blessed to be a parent. My child is mine and I will love her regardless of her disorder. Her disorder does not define her. Even though it might make the job of being a parent a little more difficult at times what is most important is her and her development. Compared to other children her age, she has to be paid more attention to. She has to be taught certain behavioral traits as if she was a younger child. It might take her longer to get work done, or to organize all that she has to do, but it is okay because I, along with the help of her supportive teachers, will be by her side and will be treating her no differently than any other child.

All the services listed above are available to me. They are resources that I am thankful to have and that I gladly utilize. They exist for the benefit of Natalie's life. All these services are available to me because they are local or have chat services online if I ever need extra assistance. I found out about these services from pamphlets at the pediatricians office and through surfing the web. The internet can be your greatest resource. Use it!
