I arrived at Milestone Production at 8 AM, feeling excited to begin my internship journey. Upon arrival, I reported to Mr. Deeban, the manager, to confirm my placement and gain an initial understanding of my role. Sofea, a fellow internship trainee, welcomed me and gave me a tour of the office, explaining the daily routines, workplace etiquette, and key do’s and don’ts. To familiarize myself with company policies, I took the time to read through the rules and regulations. I then introduced myself to the team and management through an introductory email to establish connections for effective communication. To wrap up my first day, I worked on keying in the dataset for the Hotel and Food & Beverages category into the spreadsheet link, ensuring easy access to supplier contacts for future reference.

Later, Natalie gave me a briefing on the deck, outlining my tasks and providing a general overview of the upcoming event. Abby then guided me through the key content that needed to be included in the deck/proposal, helping me understand the structure and expectations.

At 1:48 PM, Mr. Deeban held a briefing in the meeting room, providing updates on all the upcoming events and outlining key tasks. My first assignment was to collaborate with Sofea, a fellow intern trainee, to research Oscar-themed center table decorations while ensuring cost-effective choices. After that, I continued working on the pitching deck, designing it using Google Slides and discussing my ideas with Natalie for feedback and improvements. Later, Natalie messaged me via WhatsApp, requesting the pitching deck slides and asking me to add additional information. During some free time, Ms. Sha gathered all the staff to create ketupat decorations using ribbons for the office’s Raya celebration, which was a fun and engaging team activity. Before leaving for the day, Ms. Sha handed me two Milestone Production T-shirts to wear during the event, making me feel more officially part of the team.

The long-awaited event day at W Hotel Kuala Lumpur finally took place. I was required to arrive at the venue as early as 5:00 AM to ensure everything was ready before the event began. My first task of the day was to assist Sofea in setting up the tables with UOB brochures, using acrylic stands to ensure a neat and professional presentation. Throughout the event, I was assigned the important role of ushering VVIPs on and off the stage, as well as assisting during the Q&A session. It was an intense yet rewarding experience that taught me the importance of precision, alertness, and professionalism during live events. The event officially ended at 9:45 PM, after which I stayed back to help the team, especially Veen, with the dismantling process, checking all equipment, and ensuring everything matched the packing list. We completed the entire process by 10:30 PM. Although it was a long and tiring day, I felt incredibly fulfilled and proud to have played an active role in such a successful event.

I reviewed the table centerpiece decoration ideas with Casper and Mr. Deeban to ensure they aligned with the updated theme and event concept. I also joined the Work In Progress (WIP) meeting, where I helped update the overall event progress for Miss Sha, Casper, Mr. Deeban, and Aizu. After the meeting, I began sourcing potential suppliers for artificial flowers and designer florists, including Petals2u, Ohara Florist, Bunga Lab, SC Florist, and 2KM Florist.

Moving forward on 17th April 2025, I started contacting several suppliers for the decoration items and presented the options to Casper for review. On the same day, Mr. Deeban also requested ideas for the upcoming Annual Dinner Proposal, including suggestions for the entrance arch, foyer activities, opening gambit, and pre-event teaser. After reviewing the suppliers, Casper approved the selected supplier for the table centerpiece decoration, which felt like an important achievement for me.

Continuing on 18th April 2025, I proposed ideas to Mr. Deeban for the entrance arch and foyer activities to enhance the event’s welcoming experience. Casper also asked me to start searching specifically for candle holders, LED candles, and LED candle holders to complement the table decoration. Additionally, I assisted Mr. Deeban in finding more creative ideas to help complete the proposal deck. Being trusted with both creative and organizational responsibilities made me feel more confident and valued as part of the team.

UOB Wealth Forum Penang

We traveled to Royale Chulan Penang on Thursday to begin setup at 12:00 p.m. and again at 10:00 p.m. I was assigned to oversee the ballroom, both inside and outside, ensuring everything was in proper condition before, during, and after the event. Prior to the event, together with Peggy, Eason, Ted, and Aizu, I assisted in setting up signage, arranging tables, placing buntings, organizing the registration area, and ensuring the ballroom layout was well-prepared. During the event, I was responsible for ushering guests upon arrival and assisting them whenever needed. In addition, I supported Casper and Harry in coordinating with the banquet team to ensure food was served on time. After the event concluded, we dismantled and repacked all equipment, checked the packing list, and ensured every item was in good condition and accounted for before being transported back to Kuala Lumpur. The event required us to be in Penang for three days and two nights. This experience taught me the importance of teamwork, efficiency, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in handling both guest services and event logistics.

Saturday Night Remember Bee Gees Concert.

This was my first experience working as a crew member at the Saturday Night Remember Bee Gees Concert. On the first day, I was assigned to set up at the Platinum Box and later took charge of the lucky draw counter. It was exciting because many guests came to participate, giving me the chance to communicate directly with the audience. Even though we were short of manpower at the counter, I felt happy and motivated as I managed to handle the crowd and enjoy the interaction. At the end of the day, we dismantled and packed the required items together as a team.

On the second day, we were briefed again about the flow, seating, and foyer arrangements. I was assigned to the upper level as a ticket checker using the scanner. The audience was very happening and enjoyed the concert, which made the atmosphere lively and fun. I was also thrilled to have the opportunity to take a photo with the Bee Gees tribute group before we dismantled everything after the show. Although it was tiring, I truly felt satisfied because of the strong teamwork, clear directions, and the positive energy throughout the event.

Challenges: The main challenge was the shortage of manpower, especially at the lucky draw counter, which required me to multitask and handle multiple guests at once.

Lesson Learned: I learned the importance of adaptability, communication, and teamwork in ensuring smooth event operations. This experience also boosted my confidence in interacting with the public and gave me a sense of accomplishment in contributing to a successful concert.

On my last week, I continued working on the Herbalife proposal, making edits and adjustments according to the instructions given by Mr. Josh. In addition, I assisted Casper in sourcing prices for party goodies, sashes, and lanyards to support the proposal’s requirements. I also reviewed the proposal with Casper to go through the sections that needed further additions and edits. From this experience, I learned the importance of being attentive to detail when refining a proposal and how effective collaboration ensures the final work aligns with both the client’s needs and the team’s expectations.

On my last day of internship, I would first like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Sha for giving me this opportunity to complete my six-month internship at Milestone. I would also like to thank Sir Deeban for interviewing me and trusting me to join the company. Thank you for giving me the chance to be involved in every event held throughout my time here. I truly appreciate that I was not treated merely as an intern, but as part of the team, where my views and feedback were acknowledged. I have learned so many valuable lessons during this journey, which I will carry with me and apply in the future. My sincere thanks also go to the entire Milestone team Ms. Grace, Ms. Sha, Ms. Catherine, Nurul, Casper, Josh, Aizu, Alin, Amisha, Nia, Ms. Natalie, Jasmine, Tedd, Deeban, Jepp, and Harry for all the guidance, support, and wonderful memories.
