This is caused by prejudice as well as history (i.e. remnants of formal segregation, family tradition/heritage).          <description><![CDATA[<div>Maybe if people actually practiced the mercy that Portia encourages... but then, Portia herself allows Shylock to suffer (which would have potentially be seen as just and good, but is also directly contradicting her own pronouncements)&nbsp;<em>so greatly</em>... so idk. I mean, I guess not locking all the Jews up each night in the ghetto would be a good place to start? Also allowing Christians to practice usury would relieve some of that tension and hate. These are not actionable though. idk man</div>]]></description>
