The Law According to Lidia Poët is a gripping and visually stunning period drama that brings 19th-century Italy to life with elegance and intensity. Matilda De Angelis delivers a brilliant, compelling performance as Lidia, a fierce and intelligent woman determined to break barriers in a world ruled by men.

The storytelling is engaging, weaving courtroom battles, mystery, and romance into a thought-provoking narrative. While some moments feel slow-burning, the rich atmosphere and sharp dialogues keep the tension alive. The cinematography is masterful, making every scene feel immersive and full of depth.

Though the plot occasionally follows predictable turns, the series remains captivating, driven by strong character development and a powerful message of perseverance.

Bold, ambitious, and emotionally charged, Lidia Poët is a must-watch for anyone who loves history, drama, and strong female leads.

The Haunting of Hill House

My current favorite series is called “the Haunting of Hill House” and, as you can imagine from the title, it’s a horror series based on the 1959 novel from Shirley Jackson. This gripping story tells about a family who moves into a mansion in order to renovate it, sell it, and afterwards build a new one. However, after a few unforeseen events, they are forced to stay longer, leading them to experience paranormal situations which compel them to leave the house. Twenty-five years later, the loss of one family member brings them back together to face the ghosts of their past.

Although at first it may seem like a simple horror series, as you progress through the episodes, the story becomes increasingly engaging since everything starts making sense. I highly recommend this masterpiece in case you enjoy tragic and profound stories and, of course, being scared.

Sherlock is a TV series that promises to have on the edge of your seat each time an episode starts.

It is set in a 2000s London, with a plot you are already thinking of, crimes that seems clearly impossible but they conclude been incredible.
As the suspense builds up, the story gets thicker

Personally,I think the most surprising feature is the polished performances that accomplish a perfect depth of the characters.

Arguably, one of the most underrated and less talked about TV series. The more I watch it the more details I notice that makes feel in love with the way of telling these mysteries.

Pippi Langstrumpf

When you were a child, have you ever dreamed about living in a house without parents nor rules, only being accompanied there by your pets and embarking in all kind of adventures with your friends?

I have, and I was inspired by a little girl called Pippi Langstrumpf, her monkey, Mr. Nilsson, her spotted horse, Little Oncle, and her friends, Tommy and Annika. They featured in a TV series very popular in Spain in the seventies of the last century. Their exploits when fighting against pirates, bandits and all kind of crooks were gripping, captivating and engaging for the children of my time. Even nowadays, I still smile when I remember them because they always bring back happy memories of my childhood to me.

I absolutely recommend it for parents, teachers and everyone who has to deal with children: my mother says that the only moment of peace at home when I was a child was during the episodes of this TV series.

Released in 2001, this 10-episode miniseries deals with the story of the “Easy” Company, an American battalion of the 506th Parachute Regiment that fought in World War II. With actors like Damian Lewis, Donnie Wahlberg and David Schwimmer, you can only expect an entertaining, interesting and shocking series that will hook you from episode 1 till the end because you will be able to observe how all the characters evolve after each training, after each battle and after each fallen brother. You will see how those soldiers and officers who did not know each other at all will end up creating a brotherhood, a “band of brothers”.

At some points in the series, you will have to see violent and grotesque images but that is the feature that hooked me, its realism.
