Each new member has an experienced mentor to help guide them for 6 weeks. They work together so the new member can learn by experience. Unfortunately, not all mentors are very helpful or patient though.

From what I remember and what my interviewee confirmed to me is that the initial formal training process is pretty tedious. We felt we got more out of on the job practice.

New members can log in to the rpg game website to learn the rules, levels, quests and characters. Professional gamers create videos and blogs to assist new members of the gaming community. During the game, itself, new gamers are labeled as level 1, and they are restricted to certain areas of the virtual world, including quests.

In the CrossFit community, new members undergo what is commonly called an "On Ramp". Though not unique to CrossFit, this term within our context refers to the gauging of a person's level of fitness, determined by three areas: strength, cardio, and flexibility. Usually after ten sessions they are ready to join the main class.

Within the working enviornment, the training that one experiences is what helps them with the relationships they build. Communication becomes an easier proccess and has let people get out of thier comfort zone to adapt in different practices
