In this section of the original passage, Shakespeare uses more complex language that was simplified in the graphic novel. "Painted upon a pole, and underwrit

“Here may you see the tyrant” was changed to "Displayed beneath a painted sign, and cry 'Come see the tyrant!'" in the graphic novel. In addition to this, the two enemies fought, or tried to, while Macbeth tried to stop him. This went on until Macbeth had spoke again. This was not brought up in the original passage. There was also some dialogue taken out to put into the graphic novel which was, "That palter with us in a double sense, That keep the word of promise to our ear And break it to our hope". Instead you can see Macbeth put his hand out to 'block' Macduff as he stands in a fighting position, and then go on to say "I'll not fight with thee".

On page 133, when Macduff raises Macbeth's severed head, he says, "My lords, your voices I desire aloud with mine. Hail King of Scotland!". As you can see, this is a simplified version of the original passage where he says "The time is free. I see thee compassed with thy kingdom’s pearl, That speak my salutation in their minds, Whose voices I desire aloud with mine." instead. Another example of Shakespeare's wording being reduced is when King Malcolm begins giving a speech to all of the civilians about the end of Macbeth's reign in Scotland. In the original passage, he announces, "Henceforth be earls, the first that ever Scotland In such an honor named. What’s more to do, Which would be planted newly with the time, As calling home our exiled friends abroad That fled the snares of watchful tyranny, Producing forth the cruel ministers

Of this dead butcher and his fiend-like queen". The words in bold are taken out and changed to "Henceforth be earl, the first that ever Scotland In such an honor named. We'll call our friends Home from abroad that fled the tyranny of this dead butcher and his fiend-like queen". Also, at the end of the original passage, the king thanks everyone and welcomes them to see him be crowned at Scone. However, in the graphic novel, he does not do that and the story ends with a view of the witches watching down on the kingdom from something that looks like a pot.

The power and depth in Shakespeare's language deeply impact the original text and how it differs from the graphic novel. His use of metaphors and imagery allows us to develop our own story. On the other hand, this intricate language can be confusing and leave us readers lost. In one part of the original passage, Shakespeare's wording in some of Macduff's dialogue was simplified. "Painted upon a pole, and underwrit 'Here may you see the tyrant'" was changed to "Displayed beneath a painted sign, and cry 'Come see the tyrant!'" in the graphic novel.

One of the strengths of the graphic novel adaptation of Macbeth is that it is visual, so it brings Shakespeare's story to life. For example, instead of just showing stage directions while Macbeth and Macduff fight, you can see it for yourself. There are also extra fighting scenes added in between their dialogue to show the tension and struggle among one another. Many factors in the graphic novel also make Shakespeare's complex way of speaking easier to understand. However, details from the original text could potentially be overlooked, and wouldn't give off the same feeling as if you were to experience the original play in person.

Ambition is the strong desire to achieve something or become successful. When someone desperately wants power, they will do anything for it. Unfortunately, in this scenario, Macbeth killed for power. He didn't check himself and thought to wait. The witches had told him he would be king in the future. If he had waited, he would still be king and everyone would be okay. The anticipation of taking charge can leave us only focusing on ourselves. If we don't think how our actions will affect others, we will have to face even worse consequences.
