One aspect of society that shows that the government is not allowing us to be creative nor curious is through school. Students are forced to learn things to absorb information that the government wants them to know but at the same time it does not allow students to express what subjects that they want to learn. Therefore, not allowing them to be creative.

The quotes that are shown support the argument that we are being controlled and conditioned not to be curious therefore, this makes our society more alike to the one in Fahrenheit 451. In Bradbury´s society, technology is used as a distraction to individuals and deprive them of their curiosity. For instance, Clarisse describes the schools in the novel to only provide students with the answers they want them to know. Consequently, individuals lose their reason to wonder and question things about their lives or of the world. This aspect of our curiosity being controlled and conditioned is found within our society today. Most children grow up with the belief that success only comes from following a certain path that everyone has to go through like going to college and choosing a career they might not be passionate about. Students are obligated to feel that this path is the only option they have to live by because of society and social norms. This causes restrictions and limits on the curiosity and creativity of children growing up. Because most feel this way, they are not curious enough to explore different paths and opportunities.
