When writing horror the authors or directors have to know a bit about psychology so they know how to keep the audience in suspense, they also have to make sure that many people can't predict the ending because then it wouldn't be as interesting, convention is something that a group of people use so many things could be an example of that, many writing techniques are used so that the reader or audience gets those creepy vibes, finally, summaries can be used for flashbacks or any other detail, that's how all of these vocab words work together.
