What movement did you choose?
Vecchio Castello

-What is the theme/mood of the movement? (Dark, Ominous, Playful, Energetic, etc)

Calm and some parts were more dramatic

-How does Mussorgsky represent the visual artwork through his music?

The artwork showed a castle and the music was calm and very steady. He probably did this because it reminded him of a calm scene.

-What musical elements are present to help the music represent the artwork? (Disjunct melodies, minor tonality, drastically contrasting dynamics, repetition, etc).

The music is calm at first and then it gets more dramatic. He also uses repetition. But he uses different melodies too

Title- Graffiti Woman On The Wall

-What is being expressed in the artwork?

It’s showing a woman and her face has many different colors. It probably represent something.

What is the mood of the piece? What informs your interpretation?

I think the mood of this is powerful like it probably has a story behind it. The different colors might represent different things.

-What might the artwork sound like musically? (Ex-Dark timbres, fast tempo, lots of dynamic changes).

I think it would be dark timbers in the beginning. And some parts it would be slow and steady
