<title>Michelle ObamaMichelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama is a former first lady of the United States and I think it can be said that she is an icon. She is very smart and has class and style. That is why it is interesting to delve into her and learn about things that are not so well known about her.Firstly, she is of poor origin. In 2008, Obama discovered that she is related to Jim Robinson. He was born in 1850 and at least worked until the civil war as a slave on a plantation in South Carolina. So, Michelle a descendant of a slave lived in the White House built by slaves.Obama grew up in a one-room apartment in Chicago with her father, mother and brother. She slept with her brother in the living room, where their sleeping area was separated with a curtain. Her parents were low educated. Her mother, Marian Shields Robinson, was a housewife and her father, Fraser C. Robinson III who died in 1991, worked at a water purification plant. Michelle herself went to Harvard via Princeton while her high school teachers said she would never succeed.</title>

<title>Language in the USWhy do Americans not have their own official language? Around 337 languages are spoken in the United States. That is a lot. In the War of Independence (1775-1783) against the British more than 20 languages were spoken in the American colonies. The United States declared independence in 1776 and in 1780 the proposal to adopt English as the official language was rejected. A majority felt that it was undemocratic for immigrants who did not speak English. Similar legislative proposals were always voted out. The US still has no official national language nowadays but all legal texts and official documents are traditionally written in English. This is because the United States is not a one country but the federation of separate states and the district of Columbia (Washington D.C). The official language is regulated by state. The American accent has arisen because the Americans are a melting point of many Europeans. The accent originated from French, the German, Dutch, etc. A large proportion of Americans speak Spanish. The United States is the fifth largest Spanish-speaking country in the world.</title>

<title>DollarThe legal currency of the United States is the dollar. In some other countries, the dollar is also the legal currency such as Australia and Canada. The United States took the US dollar as its national currency in 1792. After the founding of the US in 1776 several currencies had been used. On 8 August 1786, the American Congress voted to introduce the dollar as the general official currency for the United States. The Spanish peso was often used for this introduction in the absence of enough British pounds. The word dollar is derived from the old European currency the Thaler. In 1792 the Coinage Act was implemented whereby the dollar was officially put into use as a monetary union. Only in 1794 the first coins were made. One silver coin was made which was worth 1 dollar and 3 golden coins were made valued at 2.5, 5 and 10 dollars. These old coins are quite rare. Of these only 15 are known these days. There are many different theories about the origin of the dollar sign. The most accepted origin of the dollar sign is the abbreviation for Mexican pesos Ps from which the value of the dollar is based. The S was gradually written over the P so that it slowly began to look like $.</title>

<title>Coca-ColaCoca-Cola is one of those iconic global brands and is at the moment being sold in more 200 countries. This is even more than countries that are members of the united nations. Coca-Cola was invented in 1886 by a pharmacist named John S. Pemberton and was first sold as a syrup against tiredness. Cocaine was in the very first Coca-Cola product because it was made from the coca plant but the amount was minimal. Nowadays there is of course no more cocaine in cola. The story of the revolution of the bottles of Coca-Cola is nice to know. The very first version of the bottle was too thick; if it was placed in coolers but they often fell off down and people could not recognize a Coca-Cola bottle and logo. Therefore, a thinner bottle was chosen. The glass bottle of Coca-Cola exists since 1916 and is known worldwide with its ribbed lines and curves. The shape of the bottle is based on the shape of a cocoa bean. This was wrongly thought to be part of the secret formula of the ingredients of Coca-Cola. Because it was thought that cocoa was one of the ingredients the designers wanted to imitate the ribbed pod of the fruit. That mistake has eventually become the worldwide known design that is still there. </title>
