Going to Hong Kong is the farthest away from home that I will have traveled, to date. I know that being in this new level of my relationship, that this might be difficult to process. At the least, it offers its own set of challenges. I am sure this is just one more factor that many IPs face daily.
On a more professional note to this trip, with traveling abroad, it is always my hope to gain a more accurate read of the culture I'm engaging with. With that in mind, as we engage in any practice, I hope to be mindful of all factors regarding that community so that one can be of the most appropriate assistance and also open up a stronger network. I think that now is definitely the time to put our best foot forward, not only for one's own professional development but as a national/systemic identity of what the view of American's are.
