Global Teacher Reflection by Leo McNeil

Welcome to our community recognition board! This space is dedicated to celebrating the unique contributions of our colleagues at Westfield. Whether it’s a moment of grace in the classroom, a hallway smile, or a quiet act of support—every gesture matters. Please take a moment to post a note recognizing a colleague (or a few!) for how they contribute to our shared sense of belonging, joy, and purpose. Let’s build a bridge of appreciation—one post at a time. If someone’s already been mentioned, choose someone else so we can ensure everyone is recognized and celebrated. Feel free to comment on others’ posts if you see someone’s name already mentioned—add your own perspective or appreciation! You can also react to posts with emojis to help spread the love.

There’s a quiet authenticity in the way you carry yourself that shines through your teaching and your interactions with both students and staff. It’s something I genuinely appreciate seeing each day. Anyone paying attention can clearly see how deeply you care for your students and how well you understand them. - Fun fact - The Daffodil symbolizes truth and honesty according to google.

Your positivity keeps us all grounded and reminds us that there is good in everyone. Thank you for all you do!

Jaylin, although this is your first year as a lead classroom teacher, you bring the wisdom and steadiness of someone who has been doing it for years. You have gone above and beyond not only for your students but also for your colleagues, always jumping in to help, share ideas, and lead with kindness. Your dedication, calm presence, and genuine care have made such a positive impact on our community. You should be so proud of all you have accomplished so far this year, and it is only October!

Shout out to Cindy for doing it all! Thank you for always answering all of our questions and keeping our school running smoothly. Not only are we grateful for everything that you do in the office and greeting everyone who comes through the door, but also stepping in to sub if needed. Thanks for having a positive attitude and making things fun! We would be lost without you!

I have always admired how caring and welcoming you are to everyone. One of my first memories of you was during my tour of the school, and that warm impression has stayed with me ever since. Over the years, I've also seen how supportive you are to the entire staff- wearing many hats to keep Westfield running smoothly, and it never goes unnoticed. I truly appreciate how you always take the time to check in on me, as it makes me feel valued and cared for. It never fails to brighten my day!

After such a rough year with your horrific ankle injury, you bounced back and rocked year two. Year three finds you expanding your role as you tackle a behind-the-scenes role managing and growing the after-school activity program. I can't tell you how thankful I am for your help with this! I feel it's vitally important for teachers to take on small bits of administration where they can. It grows a deeper understanding of the way the school runs and brings creative talent and richness to administrative tasks. It also fosters more connections and partnerships with families--a win all around. You stepped in to take a big chunk off my plate. I admire your organizational skills and ability to make the transisiton seamless. All this while you continue to shine for our families and students in Preschool 3! Rock on!
