The first stage of Erikson's Psychosocial stages is the idea of Trust vs Mistrust. during this stage it is crucial for children to learn to trust their caregivers. When talking to mother, I found out that she would always trace my facial features while singing me to sleep. I was already showing signs of being an anxious baby and she said this helped to calm my nerves.

The second stage is Autonomy vs Shame/Doubt. During this stage children develop a sense of independence. When talking to my caregiver, they told me that by the age of 2 I had already started doing things on my own, such as picking what I was going to wear or what I was going to eat. I was a picky eater at times, so I had to rely on my mother to make sure I would be okay with trying a new food.

The Third stage of Erikson's Psychosocial stages is Initiate vs Guilt. Upon reflecting back into my childhood, this was something I really struggled with. I did not want to initiate many things out of fear. Fear or change and rejection. One thing my mother said she did to help me with this was to have me practice conversations. She, or another person, would pretend to need something, but I but would have to strike up the conversation to see how to help them.

The fourth stage is Industry vs Inferiority. during this stage of development children start to develop self-confidence. I found myself to resonate more with the side of inferiority. I grew up with divorced parents which made it hard for me to make friends or do things such as play sports. This made me feel like I wasn't enough. I could only do things when I was with my mother because my father didn't want to drive me around or pay the registration fee for sports. I still to this day struggle with feeling inferior the I can't compete with my peers.

The next stage of Erikson's Psychosocial stages is Identity vs Confusion. This is where children really start to find their own identity and the role they play. I felt like I had to be two different people around my family. My father said he can remember a conversation he and I had about how I wasn't acting like the lady he raised me to be because of what I was wearing. This lead to me not feeling comfortable in what was my house. I struggled with finding balance of true self and who I they wanted me to be. Later the week my mother took me out shopping to get a whole new wardrobe that made me feel comfortable and confident.

The sixth stage of Erikson's Psychosocial stages is Intimacy vs Isolation, and in this stage we are exploring intimacy and our relationships to others. I am currently in this psychosocial stage. I had often worried about if I would be able to form healthy relationships due to my parents being divorced. I am pleasantly surprised that I have never had a problem making a connection or relationship. I am loving, kind, and supportive partner who has attracted the same kind of person .

The seventh stage of Erikson's Psychosocial stages is Generosity vs Stagnation. During this stage adults are figuring out the way they contribute to society and or their families. I have a desire and willingness to help others and to teach our children. I am more of a follower than a leader, but I know how to lead when it is best for everyone around. I think these will push me to become a generative adult and a provider for my family. I do worry that me hesitation for change could lead me to stagnation.

The eight, and finally stage of Erikson's Psychosocial stages is Integrity vs Despair. In this stage adults are trying to make sense of the meaning of their lives. When it is all said and down, I do believe that I will look back and be proud of my development through all stages. I feel like I am living my life without regrets but not without rules.
