Prophet Muhammad then turns to Umar and asked if knew who that person is to which he replied saying that Allah and his messenger knows better.

what is pillars of Iman?

it is a foundation of a Muslim's faith and are essential for spiritual development and understanding in Islam. It consists of five fundamentals which is ;

Belief in Allah (God):

The oneness and uniqueness of Allah, who is the creator and sustainer of the universe. Believing and testified that Allah is the only creator of the universe. Apply the concept of tawhid in one's life like Tawhid al-Rububiyyah, Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah and Tawhid al-Asma wa al-Sifat. As a believer of Allah we must also testify that there is no one else that can be worshipped other than Allah and that Prophet Muhammad S.A.W is his messenger.

Belief in Angels:

Acknowledgment of the existence of angels, created by Allah from light, who perform various duties. Although Allah can govern the universe by himself the angels are created to show that Allah is the discipline and to show how powerful Allah is. They are the most obedient creature created by Allah and they carry his commands to manage many things without questions asked as proved by surah al-anbiya ayah 19;

     To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those near Him are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, nor do they tire.

     funfact about angels!

    -when someone pray for the goodness of others angels will also pray for the person

-angel will spread their wings when someone is in a wisdom event

-angels will deliver someone zikir about Allah to Allah

there is 10 angels we need to      remember which are;

1. Jibril (جبريل) or Gabriel, brings down revelations to the Prophets.

2.Israfil (إسرافيل‎) or Raphael, is the trumpet blower. He will blow the trumpet the first time to signify Qiamat (end of the world) and the second time to resurrect all for judgement at MAhsyar for Judgemen in front of Allah. This is revealed in the Quranic verse:

“And the trumpet shall be blown, so all those that are in the heavens and all those that are in the earth shall swoon, except Allah; then it shall be blown again, then they shall stand up awaiting.”— Az-Zumar (39.68)

3.Mikail (ميخائيل‎) or Michael, is the angel who delivers rezki (رزق) or sustenance, and all that is good for us – be it nourishment, rain, etc

4.’Izra’il (عزرائيل), or Azrael, is the angel of death. He retrieves the soul from the body at exact moment that a person has been destined to die, as dictated by Allah, not a second more or second less. He does not have any power nor intention of his own – he does all at the Orders of Allah.

5 & 6. Kiraaman-Kaatibin (كراماً كاتبين‎) or the Honorable Recorders. One angel figuratively sits on the right shoulder and records all good deeds, while another sits on the left shoulder and records all bad deeds. Allah is Merciful to His creation. The moment a Muslim has just the intention to do good, the deed will already be recorded in the books, and this will be further added when he actually does do the good deed. However, when a person has a bad intention, none will be recorded until he actually does the bad deed. If he subsequently decides not to proceed with the bad deed, this in itself constitutes a good deed, and will be written as such.

Our book of deeds are updated twice a day, during Fajr and ‘Asr. And once a year, during Nisfu Sya’aban (mid Sya’aban)

7 & 8. Munkar and Nakir (منكر و نكير). These angels question the dead in the grave. When they do so, it is not the person who answers, but his ‘amaal (deeds) and his faith than answers for him. The questions are:

Who is your Lord?

Who is your Prophet?

What is your Religion?

As these are not answered by the person but by his spiritual self, the answers can’t be learnt. The righteous Muslim shall be able to answer the questions fluently, and the time spent awaiting the Qiamat and Resurrection shall be pleasant. On the other hand, failure to answer any shall result in immediate misery till the day of Judgment (and more after that…). These immediate punishment after death is well-known and especially explicit during the time of Rasulullah. There are hadiths reporting bodies wrapped by a large snake even before being buried.

9.Ridhwan (رضوان‎) or the (chief) angel of heaven (Jannah, جنّة‎).

10.Maalik (مالك) or the (chief) angel of hell (Jahannam, جهنم). He is assisted by 19 Zabaniyah or hguardians of hell.

There are many more as written in the Quran and as narrated in Hadiths. However, the above 10 are the ones that we need to know as they are closely related to our existence and daily living (compared with angels in charge of ensuring order in the universe, etc)

Belief in the revealed scripture:

Acceptance of the holy scriptures revealed by Allah that was passed down to the Prophets and using the scriptures as a guidance in life. These scriptures are a revelation for the Prophets to spread to the ummah. There are several revealed scripture that was revealed to the prophets such as;

Tawrat : was revealed to Prophet Musa A.S . The Tawrat is usually indicates the “Law” in the Quran and most muslim believes that Tawrat is the holy book in which true commands revealed on Prophet Musa (AS) by Allah Almighty.

Zabur : was revealed to Prophet Dawud A.S . It means “songs” in Arabic, as this revelation came to Prophet Dawud (AS) in the form of a series of songs or chants. The original text of this holy book just like Tawrat is no longer with us.

Injeel : was revealed to Prophet Isa A.S . Like many other Books of Allah (SWT), the actual text of Injeel is no longer available. That’s why Muslims are not allowed to read the holy books that have been altered. Just like other holy books of Allah, the message of the Injeel is also preserved in the message of the Holy Quran.

Holy Quran : The Holy Quran is the fourth and last sacred book of Allah Almighty. It was revealed on the last Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Its primary message is the message of Tawheed, or Islamic monotheism. The Noble Quran is the only book of Allah that is still available in its original text. Allah Almighty promised in the Holy Quran that His message will be preserved forever, and 1400 years later, that is still true. The Holy Quran is the final book of Allah (SWT), and its core message cover the message of all holy books of Allah Almighty.

The Quranic book is the holy book for muslim and was a guide to ones life. The Quranic book have 114 surah that covers and explain about every aspect in one life such as ibadah, aqidah, muamalah and akhlaq.

The Quranic book is considered as the most complete and perfect revealed scripture compared to other revealed scriptures.

as a muslim we must only believe in the Quranic book. why do we have to be faithful only to the Quranic book? because;

the contents of the Quranic book is unchangeable until the judgement day.

while other revealed scripture is revealed only for the prophets the Quranic book was revealed for the whole ummah.

the Quranic book is the holy revealed scripture that is the most perfect and most complete revealed scripture.

We as a muslim needs to know about ihsan and practices it in our life as ihsan is mentioned in the Quranic book for 211 times

The Quranic book also mentioned that there are 3 characteristics for al-muhsin(someone who have a perfect ihsan);

giving the act of goodness to someone

giving the act of goodness to someone with the best they could do

do 1. and 2. with the intention of doing it for Allah S.W.T

Only a few people could be considered as al-muhsin one of them are the prophets. There is many story proving that the prophet is al-muhsin. For example;

The story of Prophet Nuh A.S

-He built an ark to save the people and animals that were going to be affected . He built the ark with his whole energy to make sure the ark is suitable and strong even when everyone laughed at him, saying that he is crazy he ignored them. He built the ark for Allah S.W.T .

-He preached about Allah S.W.T wisdom for 990 years. Although he was mocked and belittled because of his preaching he still spread the word of Allah S.W.T with his absolute ability. He did all his preaching for Allah S.W.T.

The story of Prophet Ibrahim A.S

-When Prophet Ibrahim A.S first knew about islam, he went to his father to convert him to the teachings of Allah S.W.T as his father is an idol sculptor. He was outrightly rejected by his father because of his fathers own stubbornness nevertheless Prophet Ibrahim did not give up in trying to convince his father to accept that Allah S.W.T is the only god in this universe. Prophet Ibrahim still tried to convince his father because of Allah S.W.T.

-There were also time in which he was commanded by Allah S.W.T to sacrifice his own son, Prophet Ismail A.S . Prophet Ibrahim A.S with a heavy heart went to his son and explained Allah S.W.T commands to him, to which Prophet Ismail A.S responded by comforting his father an to do as Allah S.W.T as he know what best for everyone. Prophet Ibrahim set his son for the sacrifice and wore a blindfold to ease his own pain, as he was about to perform the act, Allah S.W.T intervened and replaced Prophet Ismail A.S with a ram(2.). Allah S.W.T commend Prophet Ibrahim A.S for his obedient and doing things sincerely for Allah S.W.T.

The story of Prophet Yusuf A.S

-Prophet Yusuf A.S has the ability to interpret dreams and he uses this ability wisely but also kindly, for example when he was in prison for false accusation, offered to use his ability with the condition that he will use his interpretation as a way to prove his innocence. He told the king that there was going to be a famine in seven years that would last seven years, he advised the King to take immediate action to start harvesting and storing ample food supplies, the king believed his interpretation and asked to meet with Prophet Yusuf A.S to which he declined. The interpretation become true and the king was grateful to Prophet Yusuf A.S and thanked by giving him a high position. Prophet Yusuf took his position seriously and did everything with his best ability. He became patient after he was out of prison and did his job with his best ability with the intention of pleasing Allah S.W.T.

-When Prophet Yusuf A.S was enslaved by Al-Azeez he had to overcome one of his trial which is Al-Azeez wife, Zulaika that wanted Prophet Yusuf A.S to the point of being obsessed with him. Prophet Yusuf A.S however hold a strong value and remembers his dad teaching, even after being forced to be in a locked room with zulaika he resisted her. Even after being threatened by zulaika he still declined her offer and distance himself from her as to not upset Allah S.W.T by disobeying his command.

If we believe in Allah S.W.T but yet we rudely treat other believer or non-believer of Allah S.W.T then you do not fullfill our role as a good muslim. Therefore we need to learn about adab and teach it to the next generation.

IHSAN MEANING FROM HADITH

-the meaning of ihsan was first said in hadith jibril where angel Jibril went to Prophet Muhmmad S.A.W to ask about islam, iman, ihsan and the day of judgement.

the hadith text and translation

from the hadith translation which is;

"...Then he (the man) said, "Inform me about Ihsan."
