As Montag and others live in their society, they can see and hear the war jets flying by; however, no one blinks an eye. Montag is at war with his job, wife, and himself. He realized that he lived in his own bubble for so long, and when Clarisse popped it, he couldn't find himself; he wanted to quit his job and noticed his relationship with Mildred gone downhill.
