Many people have the misconception that whether you act like a girl or guy is based on how you are treated. Others believe it has to do with your brain. This is called the nature vs. nurture debate. Actually, it is all in your brain whether you act like a female or a male. Females tend to be more people people. They are more upfront about their feelings. They compliment each other and show affection by touching each other. Males on the other hand aren't as upfront about feelings. They don't touch each other unless they are play fighting and rarely give each other compliments. These things have nothing to do with how you are treated, it's all in your brain.

Some problems in the brain are depression and schizophrenia. Both of these things are caused by issues in the brain. Depression is feeling sad or angry all the time. It is not the same as normal sadness. Typically only 15-20% of teenagers will have depression. Women are more likely to feel depressed than men and make more suicide attempts, but men are more successful in committing suicide.
https://www.themycenaean.org/2013/10/millennial-teen-depression/

Teens tend to be more of risk takers because they need more dopamine to feel the same pleasure. The more risky the activity, the more dopamine that is released. The more dopamine that is released, the more pleasure you feel. A few things that release dopamine are riding roller coasters or sky diving. Teens tend to do some of the more risky things such as taking drugs, drinking alcohol, or jumping in front of a moving train. We also now have the influence of social media telling what to do and what is cool. This can cause us to take more risks to fit in.

Sleep is a very important thing for your brain. Teens need to get enough sleep, so they go into REM sleep. During REM sleep your brain memorizes things you learned that day. Teens sometimes have troubles getting to sleep on time because of evolution. In earlier times, teens would stay up with the adults to be on watch. Our brains have not accustomed to nowadays when we need that sleep to get up in the mornings.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapid_eye_movement_sleep

The temporal lobe is responsible for your emotions. It kind of works like a seesaw. When you are happy, the back part of the brain is more active. The front part of the brain is more active when you are sad. Teenagers can't read other's emotions as well as adults because they use the amygdala instead of the frontal cortex.
