"Transmission", literally is using a way of expression by conveying message or emotion or any expression through the music. We can know or receive the message that the singer wants the people to really know about. In my opinion, that every single song has the own meaning within it. The song can tell the emotion and make the vibe from the melody and the accompany instrumental harmony along with the rhythm and moreover, the song can tell the meaning, the message which the singer want us to know and reflect in the song through the lyrics. Whatever which type of genre of the song is, the song must be include the meaning inside. For the example from Ratliff's, he interprets that the song "The Morning After" by Frankie Beverly, he sang about the satisfaction of the moment of having sex but not with his own wife. The song kept on with slow tempo and his voice portrayed the deep meaning of the song which was full of love and pain. At the almost the end of the music, Ratliff thought that the band should keep playing the harmony and rhythm so that the singer could sing out more of his characteristic towards this song anyways. On the other hand, there is a song named "Light" which was performed with Taiwanese aboriginal language and the entire album won the Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan in 2017 which was renown in Mandarin countries. The song basically was about the sincere gratitude of aborigines towards the God of lands and they danced and sang together under the moon and stars. As this chance, as the person who inherited the aboriginal culture, the singer wanted to prolong and let more and more people to know about the culture through the song. As a person who can't understand the aboriginal language, I can almost portray the picture and gain the information which the singer wanted to convey while listening to this beautiful song.
