I can use this information to adjust what I'm teaching so that I can help them with areas where they struggle or move on, if they all understand. However, assessment validity is dependant upon the type of assessment. Informal assessments are more authentic and students ability is better measured through these forms. As a student I did not like assessments at all and was a terrible test taker. As a teacher I understand why they are important but I also understand that there are different ways of implementation.

Yet, lately I am growing more and more frustrated by seeing, for example, STAR testing in action. Especially when thinking about children I am working with in intervention, who are curious, and are working extremely hard, yet show that they have "negative" improvement based on narrow testing measures.
