We discussed different characteristics of someone that could be considered a good citizen and why it is important to be respectful, considerate, and be willing to put others first. Students shared about someone who they know who they think is a good citizen and why they think that person portrays characteristics of a good citizen. The students were put in groups and created a skit of a acts of a good citizen and how they could be helpful in either their classroom, home, or community.

Group 2:  made their skit about helping someone who was struggling to learn to tie their shoes and they all worked together to teach them.

I think it would have been fun to hear about why picking up trash in our neighborhoods is important. Why do you think it is important to help keep the community clean? For example, it makes out neighborhoods pretty and it helps the environment."
Second Group: This group met the expectation. They worked well together and explained why helping their peer was the right thing to do. "Great job on your skit. Everyone worked so well together. It is very important to help other when they are struggling. What are some other situations where you could help someone one in need?"
