The Cultural Roots presentation provided the opportunity to reflect and explain who I am and why I may be this way. By completing this assignment, the ability to demonstrate necessary skills to be an effective LPC are showcased. Beginning with information regarding hometown experiences ended in exploration of childhood expectations. Therefore, this assignment helped me to not only demonstrate the ability to understand the depths of culture, but also the opportunity to understand myself from a different viewpoint.

This paper served as a reflection and demonstrated a personal ability to properly apply mental health and wellness counseling strategies and techniques to a variety of counseling fields. "The mirror" required self-reflection into growth and development, "The Microscope" offered the opportunity to reflect upon becoming an LPC and the necessary components, and "The Binoculars" focused on applying the gathered knowledge into a future role as an LPC. To successfully complete this assignment, a significant amount of self-reflection was present due to a need to thoroughly understand myself and the knowledge gathered throughout the course.

To successfully complete a Community Involvement Analysis, a city council meeting and one-on-one interview with the director of a non-profit organization were attended. In an effort to gain a deeper understanding of gaps in our community, I found homelessness to be a rather growing problem in our community. After conducting individual research, attending city council meetings, and meeting with non-profit organizations, the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills to properly help others was present along with slight information on ethical and legal standards within the counseling role. Therefore, this assignment assisted in acquiring the ability to search, detect, investigate, and potentially solve gaps in communities.
