In our English Lesson we use the students mini white boards to answer questions using the AFL strategy Show & Tell. My students will do a Think-Pair-Share to summarise their yesterdays important activities. Students will then be given a chapter from their reader and feedback will be taken from them for Shared Writing.

I’ve found that use of different AFL strategies are an opportunity for students to do a self check throughout the lesson as it progresses to ensure step by step learning process. It is quite effective at the end of the lesson especially.

Learning outcome: Students will reflect what they have learnt and what hinder their learning. They will consider new ideas and new questions of what is the purpose of Summary Writing and when the whole class will share their feedback, they will be sharing their point of view and ideas with others as well.
Meta cognitive activity: Self explanation.
