Today, I attended three classes. The first relief class was at 10 am. Each lasted one period, the first at 10:40 a.m. and the second at 11:40 a.m. Back to my tradition, I let the students do their home projects during the relief time as well.

From the picture attached ,I implemented this lesson in my teaching 3S, where I lead the students through how to write descriptive paragraphs from pictures. They were allowed half an hour, that is 40 minutes to write descriptions of the two images.

Tuesday 24 September

Today, I entered three classes: two relief classes, each an hour and one teaching hour in class. At 8:50 a.m., I took the students to the relief class for 3K while they engaged in doing their homework. At 9:30 a.m., For 3K, I started with my lesson and taught for two periods only. Yesterday I worked on the same topic with Class 3S, with which I focused on the writing of a picture description. I directed the students to do the task in their essay books.

Later, at 11:10 a.m., I also did another relief for 2O which was only a 30 minutes’ class. At 1:35 p.m., the school conducted an assembly in the use of the Smart TV system to the students. However, this technology is only implement at the given geographical region. Fortunately I had known it already, for UPTM has similar Smart TVs in the microteaching rooms.

Like most schools, the practica, teacher are allowed to attend a maximum of three classes a day according to the time table. Today I taught two classes of teaching lessons and relieved another class taking two periods of the school timetable. At 8:50 a.m., I proceeded to Class 3K and taught them a reading lesson. I assigned the students part 2 (Error Correction), part 3 (Information Transfer), part 4 (Short Answer) and part 5 (Matching - Gapped Text) reading activities. These exercises are done similarly with what they encounter in the Ujian Akhir Sesi Akademik (UASA) Form 3 so they get used to with the format. Noteworthy, there are no students who were absent in the class today, which hardly ever happens in a class.

I then joined Class 3S for a one period lesson where I gave them a mixed verb tenses work sheet. I selected a short grammar activity at B2+ CEFR level – more appropriate for the learners’ current level of English.

Last was a relief lesson with 3H that took two periods. I let them do their homework like most of the times since I found that they did not need my assistance in order to do their work properly.

Today, I had two teaching sessions. At 7:30 a.m., I entered Class 3S and repeated the lesson from yesterday. I instructed the students to complete the same reading exercises. As I observed, it occurred to me that both the reading and listening materials should be organized in a file. The reason being, the amount of worksheet exercises is quite substantial and may unnecessarily bulk up their exercise books. As a solution, I decided to buy a total of 68 files for the students.

At 11:10 a.m., I entered my second teaching session with Class 3K. As usual, for the one-period class, I assigned them a mixed verb tenses worksheet appropriate to their B1 CEFR English proficiency level.

Friday 27 September

Today I had no teaching classes to teach; instead, I was tasked to supervising two relief sessions. At 8:05 a.m., I entered PH (transition class). This was a one-period session, so as usual, I told them to do their Bahasa Melayu homework which was set by the class teacher.

Later, at 8:35 a.m., I went back to Class 3G for another one-period lesson. I told them to go on and work on their homework for the class.
