In this challenge, students will design a mobile app to help solve a problem in their community. If their app is chosen, the students may earn the opportunity to work with MIT to create the app!! I will be hand picking students to be on teams to be participate in this competition. Those students will receive letters this week that must be signed by parents and returned to me. More information about the challenge can be found on the attached link.
https://appchallenge.tsaweb.org/

In this competition, students work in teams of 3-4 to identify a problem in their community and use STEM to solve the problem. This is a fun and exciting project and is an incentive for the students. Therefore it is important for students to maintain current and passing status within science in order to continue to engage in the project.

Parents must provide consent for students to participate by completing step 4 online of the eCybermission registration. Students will log in tonight for the parent to complete this step.

The Plate Tectonics booklet is due on Friday, December 8th. It is worth 25% of the grade. We have been working on it all week in class so late booklets will not be accepted. The booklet should have a colorful title page. The Gondwanaland sheet should be glued down on the left and the 5 paragraph essay should be on the right hand side. Parents please ensure the students have completed their booklets. Below are pictures of an exemplary booklet. Thank you.
