These small groups with show students age-appropriate skills and tools to manage their emotions. 

This small group with consist of K-5 students and they will be pulled during their WIN time. Once groups are confirmed, a consent form will be sent home to the parents of the members. As well as a consent form, with a letter explaining the purpose of the group. Students will be able to come up with rules and guidelines, (younger grade will be guided) to keep everyone accountable.

Stage 1 Will focus on students getting acquainted with the group as students will be coming from different homerooms. During this stage, students will also be reminded of our respect agreement. I will address the times and place that our group will take place.

Stage 2 Will involve activities for the students to work on together. After each zone has been discussed, students will play games on recognizing each zone.

Stage 3 Will involve students completing their toolbox and sharing with the group what tools will help them manage their emotions within each zone. We will wrap up the groups with a self assessment/ reflection. Students will also have a check in scheduled with me to follow up on their process.

Development of socializing techniques will be happening within the students. They will be learning social skills as well as interpersonal skills. The other therapeutic factor would be direct advice.
