Vision 2020 was developed to target those seniors that needed the most direction in their plans for after high school graduation. To determine this need, each senior will complete an interest survey and a Career Crusing Profile online. Using the results of these two evaluations, the students that display the most need will then be selected and have a brief interview. During these interviews the TAP-in method, developed by Rosemarie Smead, will be used in the following manner:
Tell student about the group. Each student chosen will be individually told about the purpose of the group and given a consent form requiriung their signature and that of their parents before their selection can be confirmed.
Ask student about his or her
level of interest/commitment to expectations of group. After the initial selection process, the student will be asked if they will particioate in the sessions with good intentions and in a positive manner. If the student would prefer not to attend or has conflicts, they can withdraw at this time.
Pick participants. Only the students that provide a signed consent, reply in the affirmative to the interview questions, and show a need to participate in the sessions will be chosen with a maxium group total of 10.

(Missouri Professional School
Counselors and Counselor
Educators, 2015, p.22).

Vision 2020 will practice the Participative Leadership style from Lewin''s Leadership Styles. In the type of leadership, the students are offered "guidance to group members, but they also participate in the group and allow input from other group members" (Cherry, 2019, p. 2). This leadership style allows each group member to be able to contribute to the group and to work cooperatively with other group members to reach similar goals. Providing guidance and allowing the students within the group to work with and challenge their peers will be of the most benefit to all involved.

Instillation of Hope because each member will have to believe that if they successfully complete the group sessions that they will find a pathway to follow. Universality because the group will be made up of students with a similar goal of attaining a pathway for after high school. Altruism because the group sessions will be organized to allow each group member to help and advize one another. Vision 2020 is designed to allow all group members the opportunity to research and decide on the correct pathway to reach their individual self goals.(Yalom, 1995).
