The Hongwu Emperor was the founder of the Ming Dynasty. He lived from 10/21/1328 to 6/24/1398. His real name was Zhu Yuanzhang. The third emperor was Yongle emperor he was born on 5/2/1360. He died on 8/12/1424. His full name was Zhu Di. His saw considerable developments in economics, foreign relations, and public works, including tally trade relations with the Ashikaga shogunate for a brief time. Chongzhen Emperor was the last Emporer in the Ming Dynasty. He lived from 2/6/1611 to 4/25/1644. Zhu Youjian was his full name. He battled peasant rebellions and was not able to defend the northern frontier against the Manchu. On April 24, 1644, Beijing fell to a rebel army led by Li Zicheng, a former minor official who became the leader of the peasant revolt and then proclaimed the Shun dynasty. The last Ming emperor, the Chongzhen Emperor, hanged himself on a tree in the imperial garden outside the Forbidden City. Though this was a primary reason that the Ming fell, natural disasters and economic breakdown also helped the fall of the dynasty
